At Eurotrol, we rely on our Research and Development (R&D) to help grow our business and succeed with customers all over the world. With medical devices the Product Development Director performs an important role within our organization. You are responsible for managing research projects, development of new products and changes to existing products which includes planning and implementation. To accomplish this key role you should have extensive knowledge and demonstrate high-level problem-solving skills. From early on, you will be given challenging assignments, room for initiatives and responsibility. Our ideal candidate will be passionate about applying their know-how and skills to ensure that our R&D excel.

The Product Development Director will have to use creative abilities and research methods to improve existing products based on industry trends and develop new products to meet the needs of the target market. You are expected to report on any technical product issues that are discovered during product development and oversee product testing and trials, assessing the materials used, the efficiency of the process, and the safety and effectiveness of the final product. Responsibilities of a Product Development Directors job include: 

  • Managing the R&D team
  • Lead key projects with R&D to support business goals
  • Develop research programs to improve products and study new products
  • Translate customer requirements to product specifications
  • Establish project goals and priorities by collaborating with Marketing and Operations
  • Transfer new products and manufacturing processes into the company
  • Research, design and evaluate materials, assemblies, processes, and equipment
  • Suggest training tools to enhance employee performance and skill development
  • Monitor team metrics and objectives ensuring meeting of goals
  • Review and edit documents for all phases of research and development
  • Manage customer relationships and perform RFP reviews and customer visits
  • Oversee complex research projects, analyze results and provide recommendations
  • Be present at industry conferences on research topics of interest
  • Communicate requirements and maintain compliance with legislation
  • Reporting to the Managing Director


  • A relevant master’s degree
  • Proven experience in a relevant role for at least 5 years
  • Excellent leadership and managerial skills

  • A strong sense of creativity aids in the process of thinking of new product ideas
  • Attention to details
  • Communicate well with customers and colleagues at all levels
  • Hands-on experience in managing or leading a team of R&D project leaders
